The mattress industry has grown over recent years with the types of mattresses available to consumers expanding to fulfill every individual’s particular sleep needs. Mattresses now range from latex, memory foam, and innerspring, to waterbed, hybrid, air, and futon.
Mattresses are notoriously problematic to recycle due to their bulky nature and the difficulties in transporting them.
EA regulations on the responsible method of disposal have been updated since new processing plants have been developed within the country to enable the full recycling process of mattresses.
It is our duty to recycle mattresses via the correct disposal method to help prevent landfills from being filled up too quickly.
Ways to dispose of a mattress:

Book a skip (Do NOT fly tip in someone else’s privately hired skip!)
Book a collection via your local Council or a private Waste Collector (make sure they are a registered waste carrier; you don’t want to pay someone to fly-tip your mattress for you!)
Deposit at your local council tip or a private Waste Tipping Facility (if you have a vehicle big enough to fit it in)
